Itinerary Highlights
Day 1 – 4 Sun City, The Palace of the Lost City (Approx. 200 km)
Upon arrival at Johannesburg Airport and pickup of your rental car, you will head to the famous Sun City Resort, located about 200 km northwest of Johannesburg, in close proximity to the Pilanesberg National Park.
The Sun International resort, opened in 1979, offers a wide range of leisure activities such as luxurious hotels, casinos, artificial waterfalls, 2 golf courses, shows, a massive outdoor wave pool, and various sports facilities and attractions.
You will stay at The Palace of the Lost City, a 5-star hotel that is part of the Leading Hotels of the World.
On the 2nd and 3rd day, you will play on both golf courses, the Lost City and Gary Player Country Club. Both are fantastic courses designed by Gary Player.
Day 4 – 7 Bela-Bela (Approx. 150 km)
You will travel towards Bela-Bela, a town known for its warm natural springs.
About 45 minutes from Bela-Bela your accommodation is situated, a 4-star Game Lodge, located at the foot of the Waterberg Mountains. The lodge, set within the Mabalingwe Nature Reserve, consists of eight thatched chalets and a large main lodge housing the restaurant.
The Mabalingwe Reserve covers approximately 12,000 hectares and is home to the Big 5, although the lions are kept in a separate area.
On the 5th day, you will play a round of golf at Elements Golf Course, awarded as one of South Africa’s top 10 golf courses in 2023.
On the 6th day, you can either go on a safari or play another round of golf at the Zebula Golf Course (both activities are optional and at additional cost).
Day 7 – 10 Welgevonden Game Reserve (Approx. 120 km)
Including full board and safari
The Welgevonden Game Reserve spans about 40,000 hectares and is malaria-free. In addition to the Big 5, it is home to approximately 50 other animal species and 300 bird species.
Located in the heart of the game reserve is the Lakula Lodge, an exclusive family-owned lodge. The lodge consists of six spacious suites, a large main lodge with a restaurant, a big lounge, and a viewing deck.
The six suites are housed in their own chalets, each featuring a sun deck with a small plunge pool.
Experience wildlife up close on your safari game drives in an open safari jeep!
Day 10 – 13 Dullstroom (Approx. 4.5 hours drive)
Next, head to the small historic town of Dullstroom. Due to its high elevation (2,076 m above sea level), the area enjoys a cool climate. There are several lakes in the region where rare species live. Dullstroom is well-known for fly fishing and the nearby Highland Gate Golf Course designed by Ernie Els. Whiskey lovers will also find a whiskey bar with an extensive selection.
Your accommodation is a 5-star country hotel located just outside of town. Here, you can relax, hike, enjoy the hotel’s spa, or even try fly fishing.
On the 11th day, you will play the spectacular Highland Gate Golf Course.
Day 13 – 15 Johannesburg, Hyde Park (Approx. 220 km)
Return to Johannesburg, where you will stay at a 5-star boutique hotel in the luxurious suburb of Hyde Park, about 3 km from Sandton, 10 km from downtown Johannesburg, and 25 km from O.R. Tambo International Airport.
On Day 14, you will play another round of golf at the beautiful Bryanston Golf Course.
Day 15: End of the trip and return flight
