What do I need to bring to play golf?
You can also embark on your golf trip without any equipment, as clubs, trolleys, and golf carts can be rented from the clubs. Most clubs also have caddies, who can be hired for around €25 per round. Good caddies make golfing in South Africa even better.
Duration and course of a round of golf.
First of all, you should book your desired tee time at the selected golf club in advance. Then you can start at your desired time and don’t have to worry about waiting. A so-called starter will arrange this. As a travel specialist, we are happy to book your tee times.
Once that’s done and you’re on the course, you can begin. The standard course consists of 18 holes. The course is monitored by a marshal. Its function is to ensure a continuous flow of play. However, the rules are very loose. If the course is full, you should pick up the ball after approximately 7-8 strokes and move on to the next hole.
After 9 holes of golf in South Africa, there is a halfway house. This is a short, usually 10-minute break during which you can rest and eat something. There is a special halfway house for this purpose. After that, you can resume your game.
In total, an 18-hole round lasts approximately 5 hours.
